We are offering a FREE webinar to all secondary schools interested in finding out more about the background to this momentous event. WRITING THE EXHIBITION INTERPRETATION The purpose of interpretation is to create a link between the object on display and the visitor to enhance their experience by making it relevant. BRISTOL'S BLACK HISTORY In the ongoing struggle for acceptance and equality, Bristol’s black citizens played an important role in changing British laws forever. The Bristol Bus Boycott in 1963 started out as a protest against the company’s racist recruitment policies and ended up influencing the UK’s first Race Relations Act which sought to outlaw suchdiscrimination.
