BODYWHYS | EATING DISORDER VOICE Put simply, the eating disorder voice is a negative form of self-talk, or a person’s inner critic that is a part of the eating disorder. It refers to specific thoughts that are driven by, and can maintain, the eating disorder. The voice is problematic, distressing and disruptive. In the same way as someone with anorexia and bulimia, the person with binge eating disorder feels compelled to continue with the BODYWHYS | PUBLIC PATHWAY FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS * CAMHS – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services – this is the general mental health service for children and adolescents in the locality, which is not an exclusive eating disorder treatment team.
