THE BOB AND GEORGE ARCHIVES According to the more canon sources, when the first eight robots were created (including Proto Man and Mega Man), Dr. Wily installed programming to turn them evil when he began his plans for world domination. The story goes that when the programming was activated, it didn't work with Rock and it may have seriously screwed up Proto Man. THE BOB AND GEORGE ARCHIVES Sunday, June 17th, 2001 #429: The Second Megaman Game: Wily Dr. Wily: Monday, June 18th, 2001 #430: The Second Megaman Game: Dr. Wily Can't Not Be Evil: Tuesday, June THE BOB AND GEORGE ARCHIVES This storyline may have ended rather abruptly, but come one, Mynd had his arms and legs chopped off. Where could it possibly go after that? Also, the tank treads would be due to Protean standing on them. THE BOB AND GEORGE ARCHIVES Very rarely do I censor myself like this, but after I had made the original version of this comic, I decided it was, perhaps, a little too explicit, even if the actual act of Mega Man supposedly shoving Crash Bombs up an immobilized Heat Man's ass was completely censored out. For some reason, the implied forced sodomy leading to an explosive death just seemed to be going a bit too far. THE BOB AND GEORGE ARCHIVES Star Trek is notorious for this sort of thing: In the two-part Deep Space Nine episode "Past Tense", the Defiant accidentally acquires a build-up of chronitons, which sends some crewmembers into the past, but also shields the ship from the changes to the timeline that happen as a result, allowing the lost crewmembers to be rescued. THE BOB AND GEORGE ARCHIVES I think the much better question is why wouldn't there be a security system in Dr. Light's lab? The last panel there is supposed to match, or at least correlate to, the panel from this comic, indicating that this is the scene we saw in that comic.this comic, indicating that this is the scene we saw in that comic. THE BOB AND GEORGE ARCHIVES When I was working on this storyline, I knew I would eventually do a storyline featuring the first activation of X. I didn't know exactly how it would work out or even when I would be doing it, but I had a general idea that it wouldn't go too well, with X ending up in the capsule for 100 years, so I figured it was a safe bet to foreshadow those events in this comic.
