BLOOD CANCER TREATMENT Blood cancer: treatment aims. For many people the aim of treatment is to cure cancer. It’s also possible to have partial remission, when there are only small numbers of cancer cells left in the body.

The research looks at vaccine response in 205 people who received the Pfizer vaccine. Of these, 151 had cancer and 56 had blood cancer. These are very small numbers, but to give you an idea of how small it’s worth mentioning that within those 56 people are a vast spread of different diseases. they’ve had.

The research looks at vaccine response in 205 people who received the Pfizer vaccine. Of these, 151 had cancer and 56 had blood cancer. These are very small numbers, but to give you an idea of how small it’s worth mentioning that within those 56 people are a vast spread of different diseases. COVID VACCINE EFFICACY AND BLOOD CANCER The study has however been through scientific peer review at Lancet Oncology. The study found that three weeks after a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, an antibody response was only seen in 13% of people with blood cancer (compared with 39% of people with solid cancers and 97% of people without cancer). MYELOMA TESTS FOR DIAGNOSIS A full blood count (FBC) is a simple blood test which measures the number of each type of cell in your blood, including plasma cells. Most people with myeloma don’t have plasma cells in their blood, but if they do appear outside the bone marrow it may change your diagnosis to a related condition called plasma cell leukaemia.

Over a third of people with blood cancer “haven’t had shielding

letter”

Our survey found that over a third of people with blood cancer who are expecting to get a letter telling them to stay at home and shield because of the coronavirus have not yet received one. People with undiagnosed blood cancer don't know they're vulnerable to

coronavirus

There are over 10,000 people with undiagnosed blood cancer who are extremely vulnerable to the coronavirus, but don't know it. Could a blood cancer drug be used to help people with COVID-19? Calquence is being trialled in patients with COVID-19 who are critically ill, in the hope that it may reduce damage to their lungs.
