The 44-year-old has stints with heavyweights like Jackie McLean, Kenny Garrett and Azar Lawrence under his belt, and today acts as pianist and musical director for spiritual jazz pioneer Pharoah Sanders.He also has half a dozen albums as a leader, of which Sing to THE BIG TAKEOVER: SPEED OF THE STARS The ever-prolific, hypnotically trippy, mystical realist and tantalizing lyrics charmer Steve Kilbey has devoted himself to finishing up and recently releasing an album titled Speed of the Stars, which is also the name of his collaboration with musician Frank Kearns.Technically, this album and duo aren’t 100% new, but the result of a long-running creative process that started way back in1998.

Big Takeover is pleased to host the premiere of the vibrant and dynamic video for “Colony Drive” today. The song itself was born of the THE BIG TAKEOVER: SPEED OF THE STARS The ever-prolific, hypnotically trippy, mystical realist and tantalizing lyrics charmer Steve Kilbey has devoted himself to finishing up and recently releasing an album titled Speed of the Stars, which is also the name of his collaboration with musician Frank Kearns.Technically, this album and duo aren’t 100% new, but the result of a long-running creative process that started way back in1998.
