Festival Origins. In the beginning was the Tinto folk festival. But the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom in 2001 caused a crisis in British agriculture and tourism, and many rural events like Tinto were cancelled. The Biggar Little Picnic. As Covid 19 restrictions are beginning to be more relaxed, Biggar Little Festival is pleased to announce plans to hold an outdoor summer music event in the grounds of LoaningdaleHouse.
FESTIVAL ADMINISTRATION Festival Administration. Biggar Little Festival is run by four enthusiastic Trustees, together with our Administrator. We are: Barbara Duffner (Chair) Bev Bamford (Treasurer) Jim Softley. Rebecca McCauley. Sean-Paul O'Hare. Neil Ingram. BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION The piece then dries further before I turn a foot on the bottom. Once the piece is bone dry I decorate with a liquid coloured slip before the 1st 'bisc' firing to 1000 degrees. The pot is then dipped in glaze which I mix from a recipe and then goes through 2 glaze firings, the last to a temperature of 1260 degrees. BEE STREET ART EXHIBITION Biggar Little Festival is thrilled to present a brilliant bee-themed celebration of community creativity! For the next two months, the shop windows of Biggar High Street will be abuzz with the amazing artwork of Biggar Primary School and Biggar High School pupils! BIGGAR LITTLE FESTIVAL 2020 Biggar Little Picnic at Loaningdale Saturday 31st July - Sunday 1st August 2021 (Music, Children's Entertainment and more..) Biggar Links Saturday 17th July - Sunday 1st August 2021. (Join the Community Art Trail and make a piece of Art in your garden or window around the Eternity Knot theme.) Norma Love. The trustees and committee of Biggar Little Festival would like to pass on their sympathies to the family of Norma Love, who passed away on the 1st January 2019. COLOUR ME HAPPY COLLECTION Born in East Yorkshire, England, self-taught Artist Maggie developed her love of photography and painting when she moved to the Orkney Islands in the 1990s. Maggie is now based in Clydesdale, Scotland, where she developed the strking Art to Wear range by Skaramanda. STANDING OUT FROM THE CROWD COLLECTION Jacqueline McAteer Jacqueline McAteer - Biography. Jacqueline graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 1984, with a BA Hons in Fine Art.
