Unfortunately, that word—a sour one to many—has been misunderstood and mischaracterized for far too long and by far too many people. The term, itself, is ratherloaded with various meanings, some even saying that Calvinism—because of its emphasis on the doctrines of predestination and election in particular—is inherently anti-missions. After all, how IS EVERY CHRISTIAN CALLED TO EVANGELIZE? Must every Christian evangelize? The scriptural answer is “yes.”. But I have encountered two main reasons for why some argue the answer is “no.”. 1. The Great Commission was only given to the apostles and therefore does not apply to us today. Following Part One’s wide overview of “Megatrends That Are Shaping Twenty-first Century Missions,” Part Two is subdivided into the members of the IS EVERY CHRISTIAN CALLED TO EVANGELIZE? Must every Christian evangelize? The scriptural answer is “yes.”. But I have encountered two main reasons for why some argue the answer is “no.”. 1.
