STOLENIDSEARCH.COM: ENCOURAGING USERS TO BE TOO CASUAL I don’t get it – why are we asking people to put their credit card numbers and social security number into StolenIDSearch.com? (It’s a site which claims it will search the Internet and files containing lists of exploited accounts/numbers).. Practically everyone in the industry has been persuading wider society not to put your this kind of information into unusual sites. AN OPEN "LETTER/BLOG POST" TO USERS FROM "BIASED BBC I seem to be getting quite a lot of hits via some postings that have been made about me on the very ammusing “Biased BBC” blog (do check it out, it’s well worth a quick chuckle). Apparently my harmless comments about George Bush wanting a toilet break have been taken as “views of a leftoid of a lefty institution” and other similar “you’re a left winger” stuff. CONDEMNING THE ABUSIVE THREATS MADE TOWARDS KATHY SIERRA I just wanted to add to strong feeling in the blogosphere in condemning the awful threats that have been made towards Kathy Sierra.. Blogging has been kinda slow here recently, this time the ‘excuse’ is the contract work at Orange is zapping all my time. WHEN YOUR ASSETS ARE NO LONGER MONETIZABLE: YAHOO! PHOTOS TechCrunch is reporting that Yahoo! will announce tomorrow that Yahoo! Photos is closing. I wonder whether this is the start of a trend of marque/top-tier asset storage sites (photos, movies, etc) closing because they can no longer monetize their services effectively – either through acquisition or diversification of other properties intheir portfolio.

BONJOUR ON WINDOWS AND PRINTER DRIVERS... I have to admit that Bonjour, Apple’s service delivery protocol is actually one of the more cooler aspects of the Apple/OSX stack. It even has a Microsoft Windows download.. We have an HP OfficeJet 5610 in the Citizen Space (thanks Ivan!) which is connected to an Apple AirportExpress – and thus available via Bonjour (BTW if you want one of these cool multi-printers, this is the current BUSH: "CAN I GO TO THE TOILET, PLEASE?" Gordon: Well, with my own two eyes it seems clear it says “bathroom break” Jack: Actually my polictical stance is pretty centre. MYSQL DATABASE CACHING IN PHP I’ve been searching around for some mechanisms to perform database caching within a PHP/MySQL solution I am building. There are a number of solutions around (in addition to the official one).. WHERE DO YOU PUT ALL THAT OTHER STUFF? A few posts back I wrote about the toss-up of using your blog to take part in a blogosphere conversation vs. keeping it on topic.. A blogs have a theme – even the ones that don’t have a tangible theme can say via lowest common denominator that they are about the person who wrote them (this blog is an example of that — there is no common thread to all my posts, other than they are stuff THE FEASIBILITY AND GOVERNANCE CONCERNS BEHIND 5% The post also said the people could be for development, documentation, security, support forums, theme reviews, training, testing, translation or whatever it might be that helps move WordPress mission forward. — not all of which need to be the more expensive engineer types, and certainly not the super experienced engineers. WHEN YOUR ASSETS ARE NO LONGER MONETIZABLE: YAHOO! PHOTOS TechCrunch is reporting that Yahoo! will announce tomorrow that Yahoo! Photos is closing. I wonder whether this is the start of a trend of marque/top-tier asset storage sites (photos, movies, etc) closing because they can no longer monetize their services effectively – either through acquisition or diversification of other properties intheir portfolio.
