THE STORY
OUR NAME
Benito Juárez was a Mexican politician and statesman of the late 19th century. He was the first full-blooded Zapotec native to serve as President of Mexico and was a truly modern leader and champion of the people. It is after this amazing man, and the legend of his penchant for bizarre hats, that Benito’s Hat is named!OUR JOURNEY
Benito’s Hat started with a small store in Goodge Street in London, lovingly conceived by Ben Fordham and Felipe Fuentes Cruz, our founders. Ben and Felipe were passionate about bringing simple, fresh Mexican food to the UK that was both authentic and modern. Since then we have opened 8 stores in the UK, all of them being true to the original ideals that have made Benito’s Hat into one of the most loved up and coming Mexican brands in the country. Felipe Fuentes Cruz is still very much our culinary compass, helping us from his base in Mexico to ensure we stay true to our roots and keeping us up to date with the latest Mexican trends and ingredients.OUR FOOD
From the beginning, Benito’s Hat dedicated itself to serving simple, fresh food that is quick and tasty. The simple menu is built around burritos (naked or wrapped) and tacos but now includes antojitos (Mexican tapas), a 10-strong salsa bar, tres leches cake and a range of fresh and frozen margaritas. Felipe creates seasonally changing specials delivering classic favourites and exciting innovations. These items remain at the core of Benito’s and highlight the fact that the success of our brand is high quality but simple products. We pride ourselves on the change we make from Feast to Fiesta everyday at 5pm, when we turn down the lights, turn up the music and pour amazing margaritas for our customers to enjoy. We also change our menu and will happily serve food to the table during fiesta time, so our customers have more chance to enjoy our fabulous drinks.THE EXPERIENCE
