HYDROGEN BONDING IN COMPLEX ENVIRONMENTS We use IR spectroscopy to quantify hydrogen bonding dynamics.MEMBRANE BIOPHYSICS
We study the dynamics, structure, and environment of lipid membranes. COMPUTATIONAL SPECTROSCOPY We apply advanced vibrational models to interpret the IR signatures of non-covalent interactions in proteins and lipids. ULTRAFAST INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY We design experimental tools to probe structure and dynamics of proteins and lipids.PROTEIN FOLDING
We investigate the folding mechanisms, pathways, and kinetics of smallproteins.
WELCOME TO THE BAIZ GROUP AT UT-AUSTIN Our group investigates the structure, dynamics, and self-organization of proteins and lipids in biological membranes. Our work lies at the interface between Physical Chemistry and Molecular Biophysics. We develop and use a combination of tools based on infrared spectroscopy, spectroscopic models, and structure-based computer simulations. ------------------------- Group Photo – November 2018 Building the 2D IR spectrometer – May 2017NEWS
