Entry level professionals who are seeking training and certification for employment in avalanche programs at ski area, transportation, heli and ski tour guiding, alpine and expedition guiding, snowshoe guiding, snowmobile guiding, and public forecasting operations. Working professionals who want to better INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM AIARE Instructors are a skilled combination of experienced avalanche professional, outdoor educator, and mentor. The AIARE Instructor Training Program teaches experienced backcountry travelers how to teach the AIARE recreational avalanche curriculum and manage backcountry risk in an educational context. This scholarship is intended to both support AIARE’s mission of ‘saving lives through avalanche education,’ and encourage historically underrepresented populations in American backcountry pursuits to move into leadership roles, by partially or fully subsidizing tuition for an AIARE ITC or CLT. Prior to AIARE, there was no nationally recognized curriculum for avalanche education in the USA. The American Avalanche Association (A3) has “recommended guidelines” that AIARE adheres to however the A3 distributes no unified curriculum. We support the A3and all AIARE instructors are members of the A3.
