If you are a male athlete you are able to gain a football scholarship. The best time to go to the USA with a sport scholarship is right after graduation from high school or up to two years after. Only athletes ages 18 – 24 can compete within the college leagues. Any older and you will be looking at competing in the NAIA.

CROSS COUNTRY

If you gain a cross country scholarship, practice schedules will be made at the college coaches discretion following NCAA practice regulations. A college cross country athlete should expect to practice at least 5 days a week, 3-5 hours a day. Practices may consist of cross country training as well as additional strength and conditioning

training.

One of the key reasons athletes strive to earn a college sport scholarship is because it gives them the opportunity to earn a first class education at a fraction of the cost. Many of the world’s best universities such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Duke, Cal-Berkeley and UCLA are located in the USA. This is a great way to get ahead of your competition and get your recruiting profile in front of college coaches.

#6 WHAT IS THE NCAA/NAIA ELIGIBILITY CENTER? Give you recruiting advice Puts you in touch with college coaches Allows coaches to view your highlight video Evaluates your amateurism status, core courses, GPA, and test scores The NCAA and NAIA Eligibility Center determines if a student-athlete is eligible to compete as a freshman at the DI and DII level. Less than one in ten athletes who register with the NCAA and NAIA Eligibility Center ever play in college. They will not get you in touch with coaches, get your highlight video viewed, or even give you any advice. The NCAA and NAIA Eligibility Center is something you need to check off your recruiting checklist.
