Following government guidance, ASH Scotland staff members are now working from home. This move has been taken so that we can do our part to ‘flatten the curve’, and delay the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. ASH Scotland will continue to operate our information service and will run other work and engagement projects in as uninterrupted a fashion as possible – excluding taking part in face-to-face meetings and/or training. If you have a query for any of our staff, please email: enquiries@ashscotland.org.uk, rather than phoning our offices, and we will make sure to get back to you. During these challenging times, we are joining our voice with that of the World Health Organization (WHO), and are urging people to BE SAFE, BE SMART, and BE KIND: BE SAFE: wash your hands regularly and follow advice on social distancing. Help your health by eating healthy, keeping physically active where you can, and stopping smoking. Be aware that smoking can worsen the impact of respiratory viruses. BE SMART: only share information from trusted sources and keep informed about what is happening in your local area. BE KIND: show compassion to others, practice self-care, and look out for the most vulnerable. We seek to improve health and quality of life by limiting the number of young people taking up smoking, reducing the number of adult smokers, protecting people from second hand smoke and tackling the inequality resulting from tobacco use. Our activities include an expert information service, campaigning for political action on tobacco and health, supporting community groups to help their service users affected by tobacco use, building public support and awareness for making Scotland free from tobacco and supporting charities, enforcement agencies, the NHS and others to make their contribution to achieving that goal.WANT TO
