CONJUNTO SATÉLITE : ARQUITECTURA ORGÁNICATRANSLATE THIS PAGE Satelite House Complex. This small complex of four houses is located in Ciudad Satélite, on the outskirts of Mexico City. The inclination of the lot, which rises approximately 1.5 meters above street level, was used to partially bury the units. As one approaches the complex, an undulating façade resembling two eagles with outspread wings NAUTILUS : ARQUITECTURA ORGÁNICATRANSLATE THIS PAGE The Nautilus. The plan of the house is a logarithmic spiral whose shape is adapted to the lot on which it is built. The preliminary work with the model involved numerous changes until the right volume was found. The creative process was interesting, playful, fun. The best part, as the Little Prince says, is the process of cultivating the LA SERPIENTE : ARQUITECTURA ORGÁNICATRANSLATE THIS PAGE The garden rooftop interconnects the various institutes as well as the auditoriums and cafeteria located in the serpent’s head. There is an entrance through the serpent’s jaws. At the other end, where the tail is coiled in imitation of the Cuicuilco pyramid, is the office that coordinates the interactions of the different institutes.

EL KISS : ARQUITECTURA ORGÁNICATRANSLATE THIS PAGE The Kiss. The security booth is located on a green area bordered by a closed road circuit. The constructive system is of ferro-cement. The soil and grass covering the bottom part of the booth, along with the water tank contained in the top part, provide both thermal and acoustical insulation. Galería. This complex was designed in collaboration with architect Alejandro Sánchez de Tagle on a site subdivided into uniform lots measuring seven by twenty meters each. One or two modules, whose shape resembles that of a peanut, were placed on each lot, in a staggered arrangement that attenuates the rigidity of the

composition.

David Walsh –the creator of the Museum of Old and New Art (Mona) in Hobart, Tasmania– is a mysterious figure, greatly admired in the Australian art world. The design of the museum seeks to reflect the fusion of organic and vegetal space that Walsh describes in his book.
