APSA SUPPORTS ACCOMMODATIONS FOR TENURE AND PROMOTION, WORK DEADLINES, AND FACULTY WORKLOADS FOR THE POLITICAL SCIENCE COMMUNITY Like many disciplines,
we especially encourage college and university tenure and promotion committees, and administrators of undergraduate and graduate programs, to keep in mind that many scholars will find it difficult to advance their research and other professional activities under current conditions and may require more time for their work. We recommend that higher education decision-makers keep these longer time-frames in mind as they decide how to make accommodations in tenure and promotion time clocks, student work deadlines, contingent faculty workloads, and other review processes.
