We focus on the context of renegotiations in public-private interorganizational ties to assess the simultaneous effects of political ambivalence and social activism on the value conceded by firms engaged in contracts with local public authorities in the French water ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT DISCOVERIES Academy of Management Discoveries publishes quarterly in March, June, September and December. A 2020 VIRTUAL ANNUAL MEETING IS IN DEVELOPMENT. PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR AN UPDATE FROM AOM PRESIDENT JACQUELINE COYLE-SHAPIRO. 80TH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT Vice President and Program Chair: HERMAN AGUINIS, The George Washington University THEME: 20/20: Broadening Our Sight The most pressing challenges in the 21st century are directly or indirectly related to management and organizations: conflict, discrimination, corruption, wellbeing, economic opportunity and equality, and climate change. At the same time, there are important challenges that we are facing in our own profession such as changing models and innovations for teaching and learning, increasing pressure to publish in “A” journals, tensions over the MBA market, and the evolving nature of the university business model. We, members of the Academy of Management are in a privileged position to produce and disseminate knowledge to address these challenges. However, there are dichotomies that stand in the way of producing actionable knowledge to address these monumental challenges. In many cases, these are _self-imposed_ _DICHOTOMIES_ that have emerged over time and produced strong professional and personal identities. ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT _ANNALS_: THE HIGHEST IMPACT, PEER-REVIEWEDMANAGEMENT JOURNAL!
Academy of Management _Annals_ is an essential piece of the totality of the AOM portfolio of publications, and we are excited to be able to highlight the unique content which makes Annals the top journal in its field. You will see a number of changesto
_Annals_, effective immediately, with the new edition of _Annals_ for 2017, Volume 11. First, we have streamlined the AOM member online content experience by officially adding _Annals_ to our internal journal content platform. Second, beginning with Volume 11, the Academy of Management will add _Annals_ to the portfolio of our self-published titles, thus bringing to a close our relationship with _Annals_' previous publisher, Taylor & Francis. Third, we have also redesigned the _Annals_ format—we have brought it into alignment with our other journals with a new cover and paperback binding. And finally, beginning with Volume 11 (2017), _Annals_ will publish two issues per year, the first issue (Volume 11, Issue 1) in January 2017 followed by Volume 11, Issue 2 in August 2017. Stay tuned for more exciting news to come with _Annals_ in the coming year! Because of its origins as an invitation-only, once-per-year hardback volume, the question often arises regarding how to count an _Annals_ publication on one's CV. We are often asked whether the articles are book chapters or journal articles, and whether they are peer-reviewed. The answer is simple: _Annals_ articles are peer-reviewed journal articles. But many schools and promotion and tenure committees are unaware of this. So spread the word! Why the confusion? Volumes 1-8 of Annals were not peer reviewed. Beginning with Volume 9, _Annals_ changed its submission and review process from invited * Specialized Conferences Initiative > AOM INITIATIVE: SPECIALIZED CONFERENCES>
