In the 1860s, a wealthy Dutchman named Hugh-Hope Loudon bought a piece of land at Cap d’Antibes, in order to build a luxurious mansion, which he called Eilenroc (anagram of Cornélie, the name of his wife). PICASSO MUSEUM

On 27 December 1966, Grimaldi Castle was turned into the « Picasso Museum ». The building was exten- sively renovated between 2006 and 2008. Built on what had been the ancient Greek Acropolis of Antipolis, and then a Roman castrum and a Medieval bishopric, it was owned until 1608 by the Grimaldi family, giving the Castle its name. In 1925 it was acquired by the City of Antibes.

POSTCARD MUSEUM

The Postcard Museum displays a permanent exhibition of several thousand postcards, dating from all periods and originating from all countries, as well as themed temporary exhibitions. Visitors learn about the history of postcards, from their beginnings up until the present day, and can see the evolution for themselves. Tours are guided and commented in French or English, with a demonstration
