No matter which direction you approach from it sticks out on the landscape. There is a strange story about how exactly it came to be there and in typical An Óige fashion, the legend of the rock of Cashel VOLUNTEER HOSTELS, A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE When you walk through the hostel or just sit outside on a bench to watch the sun go down, you can feel the stories of all the people were there before you. Every single person you’ll meet at a volunteer hostel has something in common with you. They made a decision to put in a bit of extra effort to get somewhere where not everybody goes. Coming up in Killarney at the end of the winter does feel like coming back home and it makes you feel relaxed instantly. The mysterious atmosphere of the clouds hanging around the mountains and the silence that can be experienced going up there is incredible. Since the tourism season hadn’t started yet, the area was KILLARNEY INTERNATIONAL HOSTEL Killarney International Hostel has been shortlisted in the top 5 as ‘Favourite Irish Hostel’, as voted for by readers of TNT Magazine!. Housed in an 18th century mansion and set on 75 acres of gardens and forest overlooking the mountains surrounding Killarney National Park in Co.
