Trucks - confirmed brands and models Over the past year we have published quite a lot of screenshots and videos showing several in-development truck models. Our fans have rather sharp eyes and take note of all the details, so people are naturally speculating on what's coming in the future based on thoseshots.
Until recently we were planning to include at least four trucks at launch, and our screenshots shown over time on the various communication channels presented them all. Finalizing the licensing talks and getting all the vehicles past the approval stage is taking longer than anticipated, and you may have noticed some of those trucks no longer showing in the most recent batch of pictures from the game. The result is that out of the gate we're shipping you two trucks day one. But it's definitely not our final word on the matter. We have progressed very well on several additional vehicles, and in the weeks after release, we're confident that we will get clearance to start adding them to the game. For now we can confirm you two of them: As soon as we gain other licenses, you can be sure that we will deliver you further trucks as free updates!BACK

Revealing map content It's time to respond to the avalanche of questions coming our way concerning our plans for the initial edition of American Truck Simulator and its post-release future. In the past we made it known that the initial version of the game contains the state of California. That was always the plan. We are happy to confirm that we also have the state of Nevada fully ready for release. DLC Nevada will be a free game update for everyone, no matter where or when you buy the game, available immediately on the officialrelease date.
But that's not all! Arizona DLC, which will be released in the future, will also be a free game update for everybody! We certainly don't plan to stop working on the American Truck Simulator world with Arizona. However, please be aware that the road ahead of us is long, and it will take us years to cover the whole continent. It would be great to get the chance to reach the East Coast, it would be fabulous to be able to push north towards at least 60 degrees latitude and south towards the Equator.BACK

World Rescale
We are happy to announce that our work on the rescale of American Truck Simulator world from 1:35 to 1:20 is finished! Looking back, we see thousands of hours that we have invested into this project over the last six months. Our efforts have produced a result which we’re very proud of; the reworked road network is much closer to reality. We've made another big step on our quest to show the United States as they really are, as they can be seen by truck drivers in real life. The changes are quite extensive, with the different world scale comes also a longer day-night cycle and rebalancing of the economy, so the gaming experience is changing way more than would be expected through "mere patch" of an existing game. New Mexico follows
New Mexico is going to be the next map expansion. We needed an area which will naturally blend with previous maps, expand their borders and bring something interesting and attractive. Whilst creating New Mexico we're raising the standards set by previous content. We focus more on the “trucker spirit” experience and we're one step closer to reality. We want to show New Mexico as it is through the driver's eyes. In addition to a completely new map, you can look forward to brand new features.BACK

Closing a part of California's Highway 1 Dear American truckers. In your future travel plans, please keep in mind the temporary closure of the offshore section of California's coastal Highway 1. As you already know from the IRL media, Big Sur landslide interrupted the iconic route. We always strive to bring something new in our game updates. This time, at this particular spot, we will not give, but take. The next update will close the Highway 1 section. Its reopening in our American Truck Simulator will depend entirely on real world events. Fortunately, an alternate route is going to be available.BACK

Community members have exceeded the number of 500,000 deliveries required to clear up and re-open the section of California Highway 1 blocked by last year's landslide at an incredible speed. In real world you have to wait some more time before you can enjoy driving the full length of Highway 1 again.BACK

The rapidly growing population of the state is straining all of its transportation networks. California has 168,076 mi (270,492 km) of public roads, streets, and highways. 20 huge cities and small towns waiting to be explored, including Los Angeles, Oakland, San Francisco and others. Drive the varied set of roads - from narrow ones to the Pacific Coast Highway, known as State Route 1 it runs north/south quite literally hugging the coastline for the most part. Pass multiple landmarks including scenic places, well know bridges and historical buildings. Explore the geographic diversity - from the Sierra Nevada mountains to the Pacific Coast, from fir forests to thedesert.
Nevada
Nevada (Spanish for "snow covered") is the 7th most extensive (110,561 sq. mi), the 35th most populous (2,890,845 people), and the 9th least densely populated of the 50 United States. The economy of Nevada is tied to tourism (especially entertainment and gambling related), mining and cattle ranching. Nevada was founded on mining and re-founded on sin - beginning with prizefighting and easy divorce a century ago and later extending to gaming and prostitution. There are 37,854 miles of public roads and streets in Nevada. The major highways, I-80 and I-15, link Salt Lake City with Reno and Las Vegas, respectively. Discover the Silver State with its 10 biggest urban centers Las Vegas, Carson City and Reno. Cross The Strip - the famous row of casinos in the fabulous city of Las Vegas. Drive through the colorful desert to the distant horizon. Feel the serene, open and peaceful scenery with hillbilly trailer parks and rolling tumbleweeds.Arizona

Northern Arizona features many pine forests, the Colorado Plateau, and some mountain ranges with much more moderate summer temperatures and significant winter snowfalls. Arizona is full of nature - the Flagstaff, Alpine, and Tucson areas are known for their ski resorts. There are national monuments, forests and parks in addition to the Grand Canyon National Park. On top of all that a large portion of the state is made up of Native Americanreservations.
Urban areas are served by a network of state routes and highways. The backbone of the Arizona transportation system is represented by the main interstate routes. This includes I-17 in the north-south and I-19 which leads to the Mexican border. East-west main routes are covered by I-8, I-10, and I-40.New Mexico
