REVIEW: PELIKAN EDELSTEIN TURMALINE Review: Pelikan Edelstein Turmaline. Pelikan Edelstein Turmaline is Pelikan’s 2012 ink of the year. It seems like I’ve missed out on a good pink ink. I really love the bright pink colour of Turmaline. It’s vibrant, it’s loud, it’s in your face. Pelikan Edelstein Turmaline shades, going from a REVIEW: PLATIGNUM STUDIO The Platignum Studio is a level up from the Vibe. The full sized fountain pen is easier and more comfortable to hold and use for long writing session. The grip does help to keep the grip onto the pen more securely. I only had one nitpick regarding the way the cap spins evenwhen capped.
FOUNTAIN PENS IN SINGAPORE Though Singapore is a small country, we have strong core group of people in love with all things related to the world of fountain pens. This is a compiled list of where you can buy fountain pens and inks locally here in Singapore for those who are visiting or new fountain pen users in Singapore. REVIEW: SAILOR PROCOLOUR 500 Review: Sailor ProColour 500. I have recently purchased a Sailor ProColour 500, Colour of 4 seasons, Uchimizu (Water Sprinkling Clear Blue edition). Wow what a long name. Simply put it's a blue plastic demonstrator with chrome accents. Sadingly this isn't a piston filler but a cartidge converter pen. Though the pen is by no means cheap, itis
REVIEW: GRAF VON FABER-CASTELL OLIVE GREEN This is one of the newer Graf von Faber-Castell inks. Yellow-greens especially darker ones have always been my favourite range of colours. Olive Green is unsurprisingly totally my cup of tea. REVIEW: KAWECO LILIPUT Review: Kaweco Liliput - Copper. My thanks to Cityluxe for loaning me the pen for review. The Kaweco Liliput is the ultimate pocket fountain pen. It is very small and compact but in particular with the copper model it packs quite a punch. The Kaweco Liliput comes in a number of finishes, namely the stainless steel (in silver and fireblue REVIEW: DIAMINE GRAPHITE Review: Diamine Graphite. I've purchased Diamine Graphite thinking it is a gray ink. I even expected it to be lighter than Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu Syogun (which I have complained being too light.) However, Graphite turned out to be a very dark green. The green is very subtle on the fine nib but obvious on the 1.1 stub nib. REVIEW: KAWECO PERKEO The Perkeo is a faceted pen. The cap resembles the Kaweo Sport’s with it’s iconic 8 sided shape which tapers to a flat top. On the top you can find the Kaweco logo embeded there. The cap comes off easily enough and closes with a satisfying click. The body is REVIEW BONANZA: PELIKAN 4001 INKS + GIVEAWAY Now onto the reviews below! Pelikan 4001 Blue Black. Pelikan Blue Black is a fairly run of the mill ink. It is well behaved and has a fairly good dry time. There is some shading visible with the 1.1 stub nib. The ink seemes to have more blue than black. It runs from a dark blue to a grey blue colour. REVIEW: J. HERBIN PERLE NOIRE Review: J. Herbin Perle Noire. J. Herbin Perle Noire is a deep dark black on poor quality paper but it is more grey than black on good quality paper. Strangely, it dries faster on good quality paper than on poor quality paper. Shading is really obvious on the 1.1 stub nib. Is there less ink on the paper when I use a 1.1 stub nib vs. a boardnib?

Packaging: The Parker Beta comes in a normal blister pack. I wonder if they sell these in packs of 6 like how ballpoint pens are sold. The packaging is nothing special it just serves as a way for the product be displayed on racks. REVIEW: PELIKAN M600 The M600 is not a heavy pen by any stretch of the imagination. It feels lighter than the TWSBI 580. Being the M600, it has a plastic connector instead the brass one that the M800 and M1000 series has. View fullsize. The gold trim starts at the finial with the Pelikan REVIEW: PLATINUM 3776 CENTURY The step from the barrel to the grip section is gentle and the threads doesn't cut the finger. The Platinum 3776 Century is light but it is well balanced with the weight falling towards the nib. The size and weight of the Platinum 3776 Century is just perfect REVIEW: SAILOR PRO GEAR IMPERIAL BLACK The Sailor Pro Gear Imperial Black is a flat ended fountain pen. The smooth matte black finish of the pen is nicely complemented with smokey titanium ion plated trim, to match the entire look of this pen, even the nib has the same treatment. This is one stealthy fountain pen. The finial of the cap sports the anchor logo of Sailor. REVIEW: PELIKAN M205 The Pelikan M205 is one of the smallest piston filling fountain pen that Pelikan offers. Pelikan numbers the pen according to their size so the M205 is much smaller than the M1000. The difference between MX05 and MX00 is only in the colour of the accents of the fountain. (X being the variable) The MX05 has silver accents while the MX00 hasgold
REVIEW: SAILOR PRO GEAR REALO The Sailor Pro Gear Realo is a clear demonstrator with silver and red accents. The pen is essentially made of resin, it is mostly transparent with its finial and the piston knob in red. The clip, centre band and the logo on the finial are silver. The silver Sailorlogo
REVIEW: MONTBLANC MEISTERSTÜCK LE GRAND 146 The Montblanc 146 is a piston filler fountain pen. It’s a traditional cigar shaped pen with a black body accented with a gold plated clip, centre band and piston knob band. Well, you can say the design is classical but I found it rather boring, too many pens have a similar colour and look. REVIEW: J. HERBIN PERLE NOIRE Review: J. Herbin Perle Noire. J. That means it has a piston fitted inside the pen body. The knob at the end of the barrel twists to push or pull the piston up or down the length of the barrel. The piston mechanism operates smoothly. REVIEW: CROSS BAILEY The weight is comfortable in my hand. It can be a little back heavy because of the metal housing. The Cross Bailey is a torpedo shaped fountain pen. REVIEW: ROBERT OSTER SIGNATURE DEEP SEASeptember 20, 2019
in review
, Ink
I’ve purchased this ink on a whim, not knowing what to expect beyond the colour of th eink. I’m pleasantly surprised to find how good a shading ink this is. Like its name, the colour is deep and rich. The dark teal appeals to me a lot. And the dryness is a good fit for mywetter nibs.

REVIEW: ORGANICS STUDIO NITROGEN BLUESeptember 13, 2019
in Ink
, review
_My thanks to Ana of Well Appointed Desk for the ink sample._ Nitrogen blue is a sheening ink. But that’s not a surprise for any one now. I’m pretty late to this bandwagon after all. It’s a dark blue ink that’s super saturated and lubricated. It shades well and has a strong red sheen. You don’t even have to have a ton of ink on the paper to see the sheen to show up. It’s even sheening on my nib collar and grip. That’s how much it shows. It also dries up quickly on the nib if you take too long to figure out what to write next. If you’re looking for a super sheening ink, this is the one for you. Though I have to say, cleaning is a pain the ass, because of how saturated the ink is._Similar Inks:_

REVIEW: DE ATRAMENTIS SHA WU JINGSeptember 06, 2019
in Ink , review
This is the last of my TY Lee exclusive De Atramentis inks that I’ve purchased from them a few years ago. I really enjoy this colour. It’s a muted green-yellow with a strong grey undertone. It shades subtly even in my 1.lmm nib. Unlike the other TY Lee exclusive that I’ve reviewed, this isn’t a scented ink. I can’t really say why this ink is named after one of the characters of the Chinese story, Journey to the West, but all in all I enjoy this ink._Similar Colours:_

REVIEW: COLOURVERSE KEPLER’S LAWSAugust 30, 2019 in
Ink , review
This is my first experience with Colourverse inks. It is thus far a very enjoyable ink to use. Kepler’s Laws goes down lika bright red but dries to a more muted colour. It doesn’t shade much and remains relatively flat even in my 1.1mm nib. Personally this colour isn’t my cup of tea but don’t let that deter you if you do like it. In terms of wetness, it’s slightly wet and lubrivated, fits well in my dry-ish TWSBI mini nibs._Similar Inks:_

REVIEW: KWZ BROWN PINK August 23, 2019 in Ink, review
I got this in a long time ago and had assumed I’ve reviewed it. Turns out I’ve not. So here it is. KWZ Brown Pink is an interesting blend fo colours. It verges on the purple end of colour, shading very well even in my EF nib. It goes from a deep dark purple to a muted pastel purple-grey. It also has the distinctive KWZ scent. I love it but it may not be for everyone._Similar Inks:_
