CASE SUMMARY A-3024
A-3024 was a 68-year-old male with inoperable brain cancer who had neuro cryopreservation arrangements. Legal death was declared in Northern California, USA, and the stabilization team arrived seven hours later, four hours after being notified. THE LEGAL STATUS OF CRYONICS PATIENTS This act is the cornerstone of the legal rights of suspension patients in California. It details the rights of a family to control disposition of remains, and the right of a decedent to direct that disposition prior to death. Several courts have held that this act applies to cryonic suspension. “7100 (a). FAQ GENERAL QUESTIONS Alcor, 80 Ursae Majoris, was precisely what they had been looking for. Cryonics, September, October, November 1992. by Michael Perry, Ph.D. The greatest crisis in the history of Alcor, and one of the major turning points of cryonics, began in December 1987, when 83-year-old Dora Kent was suspended. A retired dressmaker, and mother of longtime cryonics activist Saul Kent, Mrs. Kent had been ailing for severalyears.
CRYOPRESERVATION OF THE BRAIN: 2013 UPDATE From Cryonics, September 2013. by Chana Phaedra. INTRODUCTION. As all cryonicists understand, the one absolutely necessary component of the human body that must be preserved in order for one to be successfully resuscitated from cryonics is the brain.FROZEN SOULS
Fertility researchers had already proven that human embryos could be frozen in liquid nitrogen, thawed, transplanted, brought to full term, and produce normal, healthy children (the first in 1984, now many thousands worldwide). The Church’s position was that these fertilized embryos had souls, were humans, and destruction of them wasmurder.

PAUSING THE DYING PROCESS The definitions of death change over time as medical understanding and technology improve. Someone who would’ve been declared dead decades ago may still have a chance today. Death used to be when a person’s heart stopped, then when their heart couldn’t be restarted, and is now being extended further.Learn More
MODERN SCIENCE
Cryonics sounds like science fiction, but it’s based on modern science. Life can be stopped and restarted if its basic structures can be preserved. Vitrification can preserve biological structure very well – much better than freezing. Methods for repairing biological structure at the molecular level can now be foreseen.Learn More
