Oh wow… So much to learn from being inside of this place… Not only does it cover Alcatraz and some of its most famous inmates but covers a lot of famous lawmen and their legacy as well as lots of weapons, torture devices and other devices such as gas chambers and electric chairs used for capital punishment… There is also the white bronco Located downstairs as well as Bonnie and Clyde’s car and Ted Bundy’s volkswagon beetle...Melissa and I were in there from 10:30 AM till 3:35 PM and we probably would have been in there till 4:00 PM but we tried to rush it the last 30 minutes that we were in there as we were very tired and plus it was time to eat again… 😂 but yes this place we would absolutely recommend that everybody go in and at least check it out once.read moreElla Brown

We went yesterday and spent 3 hours looking at all of the amazing things you guys have. My favorite parts were the serial killer exhibits and the famous cars. Everyone was so friendly and it was busy but not so bad that you couldn't walk and look at everything. I did feel the audio tour could have been a little better. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting. One other note I might add is that the stickers for the audio tour are not in order after no. 12. My friend asked someone who worked there about the 10, or so, missing stickers and he said someone must have removed them; however, that was not the case, they're just not in order after no. 12. This is something that should be told at the beginning. We actually went back looking for them and when we couldn't find them, we just went ahead and listened to them to catch up to no. 25, only to find them through the rest of the museum. Other than that, the museum was awesome and I plan on coming back!readmore

This year was our second visit to Alcatraz East. Luckily this year we won free passes to the museum from a charity event we attended. Each time we have visited we loved it. The place is very clean, and organized. Staff is very friendly also. The amount of things on exhibit is incredible! We found new favorite things every time and enjoyed each moment. I love how they have stuff from all crime eras, each crime classifications, and honor first responders. To have an area that showcases both police and corrections means a lot to those of us who have served in law enforcement and want to continue to serve. Love love love this place. As a true crime fan and as a Criminal Justice student, the museum is an awesome experience! It is larger than it looks! I thought it was only going to take about 30 minutes or so to tour. Ended up spending two hours! Reasonably priced, as well! Permanent exhibits and temporary ones. Can’t wait to go back!! Only issue I had was the restrooms. There is only one and it is in the middle of the museum. So, if you have to go, either do it before you get there or go when you get to them…as you don’t want to backtrack! Edited: They told me about the other restrooms! Silly me! I guess I was so engrossed in the experience I missed the signs for them! Lol!!! Thank y’all for setting me straight! Six stars now ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️read moreKim Fisher

My husband, who usually goes along with anything and lets me select the activities, saw this place on the Parkway and said “we have to go there!” We spent 2 hours in this attraction and had such a good time! There are exhibits on medieval and colonial time periods, profiles and artifacts related to serial killers and famous crimes, rooms on crime investigation techniques, exhibits on 9/11 and even recent tragedies such as the Pulse nightclub and Las Vegas mass shooting. Currently there is a special exhibit on Nicole Brown Simpson. Because it isn’t necessarily geared toward children, it was also FAR less crowded than other attractions. Highly recommend!readmore

I enjoyed my time at this museum, but there was a couple things that I ran into that were issues for me. First of all, many of the reviews call this place “child friendly”. Probably more for older children because my young children were difficult to navigate through. They were pretty bored. There was a couple things they enjoyed but most of it was us trying to drag them through. Secondly, I guess I didn’t think this through. But I had issues with seeing things like Caylee Anthony’s backpack and stuff. It was really hard to look at and imagine the horrible things that took place with some of these items present. I thought I would find it interesting but it was heartbreaking. I also found it hard to read a lot of the displays because of the amount of people, but that can’t be helped. But the end was really neat, lots of interactive things to do and veryfun.read more

I went to visit here 10/14/18 at 7p.m. the first thing that strikes me is the door that says be nice to the inmates... I laughed but then we meet the cashier... Now I know why the door said this... they treat u ruff like your in prison. Not very friendly and she wanted to see both of our id's before we were allowed to enter even thou we weren't using their hand held listening devices Thru this place. Even thou This place is really interesting and very fun.. you would want to allow 4 hours easy. There is so much to read. Not sure why they call it Alcatraz thou... it's got 3% content about Alcatraz... also I definitely wouldn't bring kids it's more adult oriented as u can imagine. Your gonna pay 25.00 a person and there is so much reading that your kids aren't gonna to let u get thru it. Very little kid entertainment that I saw. Just a roller on the wall with A B C for the kids to read and choose a fact. There is also an impressive 911 memorial that appears they have steel from the actual buildings. My husband is super tall 6'4 and was able to reach to touch the suppose artifact... the steel is Rubber...look closely and u can tell it's rubber or leather. Its not a real artifact and left me wondering how many other artifacts are fake? I was disappointed about it as I have seen real pieces from the towers in Baltimore. Still interesting exhibits though. ALSO this places closes firmly at 9p.m. and adviced that so allow your self time for your money. You will be rushed out with only seeing half of this place if your reading and looking at everything.read moreLauren Blocksom
