OLDER PEOPLE' RIGHTS Older People' Rights. This page brings together the work done at EU and global level to promote the rights of older persons. While our rights do not change as we grow older, older persons often face negative attitudes and age discrimination in particular in access to health care, employment, goods and services, information andeducation.
UN OPEN-ENDED WORKING GROUP ON AGEING: ENCOURAGING SIGNS The UN Open-Ended Working Group on Ageing (OEWG) is the annual highlight for the global movement that is advocating for a new UN convention on older people’s rights. Expectations were even higher this year, since due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the OEWG had not convened for two years. Civil society organisations were hoping that the scale and severity of the violations of older people’sEUROPEAN COMMISSION
The power to enforce European law is relevant in the field of anti-discrimination legislation on the basis of age in employment.
