Given that this was ten years apart from its predecessor, I feared that this movie would suffer the far-separated comedy sequel curse, but my doubts were quickly shaken. The sequel remains really funny, including the return of the fun narrative cutaways and the, sometimes creative, use of text for the rules of surviving the zombie apocalypse. The returning four main characters remain great. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) and Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) are a great odd-couple duo with excellent chemistry. Emma Stone as Wichita continues to do a great job as the one who reacts sarcastically. I love new character Madison (Zoey Deutsch). She is a bimbo/airhead type, but she has a specific quirkiness that makes the character distinctive. She always has the most random lines. The plot itself is a little lightweight; the movie mostly runs on the

jokes.

It's one of those movies made to pull at the emotional strings of a certain audience. Everything about this movie was niche to black folks tired of police brutality and this movie is all about justice for those who get none. Every single scene will have you shouting at the screen if you know what if feels like to be targeted by the cops cause of the color of your skin. The point that they were trying to make registered, but the movie was not bad at the same time. It Had some good action, very suspenseful and I especially liked Nomi Harris and Frank Grillo as the opposing sides Entertaining . Good: The main story that is tying the 'scary stories' together is interesting and a fresh take as the 'scary stories' are short and filler needs to be made for a feature film. The direction from Øvredal is great finding the right amount of scares to be had with built suspense from the grisly production by Del Toro. Bad: The cast is fine, nothing spectacular or atrocious, it is something you would expect from a horror film. Some lines are cheesy and laughable. The main story could have been shortened. The first film; 47 meters down was a simplistic well executed shark survival film that had enough going for it to be a solid entry into the depths of shark films albeit cliche. This adds more intensity with a faster pace and some more action/scares throughout. Director Johannes Roberts clearly had a bigger budget as he was able to have much better set pieces and expanded settings in the underwater cave ruins and it works very well for the overall story and atmosphere. The actors may not be upper echelon, but they serve their purpose for the story. The colors and visuals are phenomenal and the cgi sharks look a lot better this time around. There are even some unexpected moments you won't see coming that i commend them for attempting. I can often tell what's going to happen in a movie, but this drama kept me guessing the entire time. It challenges you to think and look at what's happening from several different perspectives. Julius Onah directed the movie that is based on the play by J. C. Lee.

THINGS I LIKED:

The cast was absolutely fantastic and includes Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer and Academy Award nominee Naomi Watts. Also included are Tim Roth, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Deshaun Meeks, and Andrea Bang. I imagine we're going to see some Oscar nominations arriving in a few months that congratulate these performances. Kelvin Harrison Jr. is really great and has a bright future in film. Fans of Lie to Me: Season 1 will enjoy seeing Tim Roth. I loved the first season of that show and then it started going south. Luce means "light". Luce said that his adoptive American parents named him that because he had some light in him even though he had a dark past in war-torn Eritrea. THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE: I hated that pounding drum sound effect that went on and on in several scenes. This is a serious drama with no humor. We didn't have to see all that flesh. I much prefer scenes that are subtle and imply certain actions rather than showing you everything. It definitely takes its time to unwind the story. Some people might be confused and wonder

what happened.

I just got out of watching The Art Of Racing In The Rain A seriously emotional movie for me, as I had to have my beloved family dog Rocky, put down on Monday, I knew I would cry watching this, and I

It is not what you think it is. It is not a racing movie, nor is it a children movie about a mischievous dog, its about the people and their relationships told through the eyes of the dog, voiced beautifully by

Kevin Costner.

It has been 13 years since Milo Ventimiglia starred in Rocky Balbo, yet every time he smiles that crooked smile, I'm reminded of Sly. Amanda Seyfried puts in a touching performance whilst Martin Donovan is simply a guy you will hate. This is a movie that is all heart, I laughed and cried watching it. Terminator: Dark Fate is the next tired attempt to revive the Terminator Franchise. In a nutshell, this is awful. The film is little more than a generic and tepid action film with the Terminator name slapped on it. For 200 million dollars, it looks incredibly cheap and very bland, with an overly lit brown/beige palette and locations that you've all seen before (more road chases, more factories). Mackenzie Davis is the standout and gives a really good performance as Grace, but the others are really below par. Even Linda Hamilton portrays Sarah Conner as some inept old women who is just really annoying. Her angst and negativity in T2 was always justified, but here the motivation are all so thin that it ends up just being a pale facsimile of what she did for Cameron. Arnie is 100% phoning it in here and his role in the film is almost comical in regard to his "character's" situation. The new girl....isn't even worth mentioning. The plot is just exactly the same old "send a bad guy and a good guy back to kill/protect someone then go on a chase". There's absolutely nothing new here at all, and almost every beat from the other films is re-hashed, only here they inject long boring sections where nothing happens. These parts are supposed to be "dramatic", but there's no depth or originality to the story or characters for those kind of moments to work without just being dull. The CGI is woeful too, and I'll not spoil anything, but it takes a very big dump on the first two films from the very start. Any attempt at a third Terminator film should have been made in 1996-98. The film should have been written and directed by James Cameron and should have been completely set in the blue tinted post-apocalyptic setting we saw glimpses of in the first two films. Alas, we will never see James Cameron's "Terminator 3: Future War" as not only has the lore been tainted, but the time for it has well and

truly passed.

Terminator: Dark Fate is not only a poor, poor attempt at a third "canon" entry in the franchise, but it is for me, the worst of the

post-T2 movies.

This is a beautiful and deeply felt look into a small subculture of America, charismatic Christian religious cults which revolve around the handling of poisonous snakes. It is not an exposee -- each person is acting from sincere emotions and beliefs, however misguided they may appear to most of us. For instance, they reject modern medical care, preferring to rely on the Holy Ghost to heal people. As in 'Witness' years ago, the cohesion of the group is the predominant factor in all aspects of the lives of its members. The story focuses on the daughter of the charismatic preacher. She is a strong believer, and yet is attracted to a youth who has rejected the

religion.

I have been a big fan of the Addams Family since I saw the first movie, and looked forward to seeing this on the big screen. The movie was OK. It was an entertaining hour and a half, but it does not inspire repeated viewing. It actually seems more appropriate as a movie pilot for a new children's show than it does for a movie. The people who created this obviously had a lot of love for the property, and seemed to have fun with it, which translates well to the screen. But coupled with the thin plot and less than stellar design, there is a lot to be desired. One bright spot was the first 10 minutes, which served as a sort of an origin story for the clan. DC can STILL give us a compelling movie. Wasn't quite hyped about it, I mean, an origin story of a villain made by the director of Hangover movies; what could I even expect? Then, the reviews started to drop. Still wasn't sure if I would like it. And after I saw it, it was way better than I thought it would be. I won't call it a masterpiece, but it definitely is on my top 3 DC films of all times! Good : There's hardly anything bad about Joker. Joaquin Phoenix does a great job of bringing the character into life. Rather than a typical superhero/supervillain origin story, we get to see a psychological drama + horror, and thank God, we got that. I love the genre, I love films like Infinity War, Days of Future Past, Endgame and Raimi's Spider-Man. But occasionally, it's really good to take a break from such films. It's, kind of, in the category of films like Unbreakable. Basically, the movie is (no spoilers ahead) Arthur, being tormented by the society and being a mentally unstable loner, loses his mind after the constant torment and after that, all hell breaks loose. That's all the movie shows. It would be quite difficult to give a really good story for a plot like this, since there are many movies with this kind of plot (awfully crappy ones included). I completely liked this movie, means the screenplay and direction worked for me. You can feel for Arthur, whenever the movie asks you to. You want to root for Arthur, but you know that it will mean some incredibly terrible things will happen. We see him slowly transition into Joker, and when he completely turns into the Joker it is worth a round of applause. We feel good as well as terrified with the actions of the Joker whenever he snaps and crazy stuff happens. Without getting into spoilers, I would say - in short - that it has many quotable lines and each of them make sense. Whatever Joker (a psychopath) says is more realistic than what a sane person says. And obviously has some sick, terrifying and gruesome Joker moments that a proper Joker movie should have. If it's not clear by the trailers, there's no Batman here. But (again, no spoilers) it does have some Batman references to support the movie. It could've created a mess and might have felt like a shoehorned plotline, but it plays out as a proper support for the main story and the transition of Arthur into Joker. Mixed : It is a good thing that the movie has a 70s psycho horror vibe to it. But, it could've been more original. Like many others have pointed out, it's similar to Taxi Driver by Scorsese. While it wasn't a copy and paste of Taxi Driver, but some parts make it obvious that the movie was inspired by Taxi Driver. Not necessarily a bad thing, the movie has the elements as a homage-ish way, but looking at how well made it was, it could've been slightly more original. And, it may feel a bit slow for some people, though it's worth your time. My take on the controversy : It can happen that some morons might watch this film and cause violence. It can happen with any violent movie. But, even though it justified the Joker's actions, it doesn't show them to be right. Speaking of violence, it's just psychologically compelling horror. It's less violent than Deadpool, but feels more violent as it's a serious movie. So, glorification and siding with a psychopath is a complete and total nonsense. Conclusion : It's a must watch. You don't need to follow any of the DC movies to understand it. But do not expect it to be a typical superhero action film with CGI battles and a spectacle. Wrong expectations might ruin the experience. Else, I found it to be better than The Dark Knight Rises. And TDKR is one of my favorites in the genre. If a Nolan movie is replaced by another movie in my list, you may consider it to be great. One last thing, people causing violence because of Joker would be equivalent to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly inspiring three people to have a gun duel for some gold.

Seriously given how timelessly classic the original is, was there really any need to do it with more "realistic" graphics? A constant issue throughout the film is that the human emotion of the lines is lost when the realistic looking animal faces are unable to reflect what the dialogue is trying to deliver, purely because if they did over-animate to move like a human face would, then it would look corny and lose the realism. As an unfortunate side-effect of the dialogue and facial animation not matching up, some of the dialogue feels forced and as though the actors were just not feeling it. As many others have mentioned, a lot of moments from the original have been cut, some of which were my favourite parts of the original, but also parts that gave important context to inform certain character decisions. As a result of this there are moments where a character seems to jump too quickly to a decision or reaction without enough context to back up why, and these moments lose their immersiveness. I'll leave it there, but suffice to say that I left deeply underwhelmed, and I'll need to rewatch the original to remind myself why I love it. Watch The Lion King in HD Quality on 123movies.
