NATIONAL BRAKE DISCS ANY GOOD? Can anyone tell me how National brake discs (as on Apex's site) rate compared to discs like Tarox or Black Diamond. I was recommended Tarox by a mate with a 300zx who raves about them, but I rang round a load of shops and no one could get me some. I HIGH LAMBDA READING ON MOT EMISSIONS TEST Every mot I have the same issue in that it is a struggle to get my car to pass the emissions test, specifically the lambda. I'd like to get this sorted once and for all, but could do with some advice as to where to look for issues, and what other owners experiences are.S13 WIRING DIAGRAMS
One thing that I've always been grateful for is the S13 service manual PDF that I got from Jez Horsham's website. There's always been one thing that's annoyed me about it though - the wiring diagrams at the end are all at weird angles, upside-down, not in sequence, and on seperate pages. :( It's easy to understand why, it's because they were originally fold-out sheets. MK2 MX-5 BOOT LEAKING? All you need to do is scoop out as much as you can after a few days and vacuum up the dust left over. It's easy enough to tell where it's coming from, pour water over the boot lid and it should disappear down the outside of the rear lights and appear on the floor. The rain railis a PITA.
T28 ON STANDARD CA18DET I've recently blown my t25 on my daily s13 and it seems easier to get a hold of a T28 and as I was planning to upgrade to a T28 in the future anyway I'm thinking about upgrading now. Only thing is I don't have a whole lot saved and my car is all stock except freeflow exhaust, cone intake and bov. Can I bolt a t28 (standard boost psi) straight on as it is or what turbo supporting modifications TETROSEAL OR WAXOYL? I've just used Tetrosyl on the underside of my S13 from a can. It has cracked in a number of places about 2 days after application and the finish is a bit suspect in places even after two coats. I wouldn't use Waxoyl personally. WASTED SPARK - SXOC Hi, What are the benefits of going full sequential for ignition, vs. wasted spark? Back story - the MX5 runs wasted spark ignition, with 2 coils. I'm converting to Toyota COPs to get a better spark, and have two routes I can take: Keep the existing wiring, pair the coils off and run wasted spark again. Add new wiring, modify my ECU and run fullsequential.

EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE EGT Hi, I measured 900deg on my Stage3 CA, and i was a bit worried. 900deg is slightly too high for the endurance i expect from my engine, so i like to reduce it. I asked two of my lecturer in my uni how to achieve that. One said (like every one says), increase fuel. I am currently running 0.75 lambda. Which is quite rich already. ROVER 25 HEATER PROBLEMS Rover 25 heater problems. As above got a rover 25 that doesnt want to blow hot air ??? there is an 8mm bleed screw on a black metal pipe on the right of the engine, make sure all the air is bled through, if your really stuck i may be able to look at it sometime? yeah its all bled got a coolant flush to run in it tomorow see if that helps. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USING CHEAP OIL AS AN ENGINE FLUSH I have just purchased a 2003 model BMW 318Ci SE. It has a 2.0 litre 16 valve N42 engine. I intend to change the oil and I am going to use Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic ESP 5w-30 which is recommended for this engine. I actually have some cheap 5w-30 semi oil which I need to use up. Should I use this as a flushing oil. Event report by Slip N’ Slide HELMINGHAM HALL 2016 Last weekend SXOC attended a car show within the exquisite grounds ofHelmingham Hall.
The stand was full and nothing failed to disappoint! It was scorching weather with amazing cars from Ferrari’s to 200sx’s! As you may have seen, the club was on form with the banter. This time it was Daz’s turn as usual to be the “butt” of the joke, as couple of members decided to decorate his car as a welcome back initiation, after almost 3 years of it being off the road – Click here for his project thread. – http://sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?441292-My-S14a-build/ Here are some of the pictures of our tomfoolery. ners
speaking about each one, a country dancing display and a falconry show where, as per every year, one of the birds wouldn’t come down from a tree! Something for all the family and trade stands too. I along with others got majorly sunburnt so let ‘the boy’ chill out in the shade (aka the boot). By 4pm most people had left apart from a few hardcore show goers that went for a stroll around the acres of gardens. Thanks to all that came and of course to Helmingham Hall who were as always amazing hosts and a credit to car events, it all ran very smoothly. Until next year, Helmingham.See you there!

Event Report By PointzJAPFEST 2016
Japfest 2016 at Silverstone. It was the first big show of 2016 and besides the nightmare of a new ticket system that Chris had to deal with, what an awesome start to the show season for the club. SXOC at Japfest 2016 Considering the date being a month earlier than usual we pulled together and managed to have over 30 cars on show and some extremely nice examples at that! SXOC 200SX Owner’s Club Stand at JapFest 2016 – photo: L16JAY It was good to see a nice mix of s-bodies including s13’s, s14’s, s14a’s, a ps13, a sil80 and an s15. We even had the pleasure of Def’s rx8!!! Silverstone did a great job of hosting the event and the BDC drifters put on some incredible drift demo’s so a huge thanks to them. Thank you all for attending and hope to see you all again at more events throughout the year. And a massive thanks to ChrisCooke for organising as it wouldn’t of happened without you.Cheers,
Rich aka pointz
